Itβs 2008 and 13 year old Sarah is watching MTV when Katy Perryβs I Kissed A Girl comes on and her obsession with Katy begins.
On a cloud of cotton candy, Cherry takes you on an intimate, bubblegum, pop journey from fangirl Sarahβs awkward teenager years, to discovering the power of Katy Perryβs music, to ultimately becoming a confident, bisexual woman, and on the way invites each one of us to embrace who we fully are.
Cherry hilariously and insightfully celebrates the power of music to transform and enlighten in this one womanβs thank you card to her idol. #KATYCATS
βSarah Carroll is a certified superstar. It feels very much as if you are reading someoneβs diary or more accurately, their Tumblr blog from 2012β

Weekend Notes
βA playful, joyful journey; one young womanβs passage into adulthood with Katy Perry as an inspiration. The Fringe provides a perfect arena for a little bliss bomb like Cherry.β

Some Really Cool & Nice Reviews
βBut what is outstanding in Sarah Carrollβs telling of her story is her detailed creation of a 13-year-old girl with all the shyness and dreaminess, and sudden assertions, and fiddling nervously with her clothes.β
β Stage Whispers
βCherry is a coming-of-age journey delivered with humour and a whole lot of heart. Carroll ties the show together through a heartfelt reflection delivered to cardboard Katy, with the audience as witnesses and voyeurs.β
